I found myself alone on the Red Line tonight.

  1. would you rather win 4 numbers from the lotto or have this experience for all public travel for the rest of your life?

  2. When I lived in NYC and found myself in an empty subway car, I moved to another car immediately. Without fail, you’d otherwise find out very quickly why the car was empty, and it was gonna be an unpleasant experience.

  3. Everybody must have assumed that OP drove away the other passengers, so nobody else wanted to be the second person in the car to figure out what they did to drive everybody off.

  4. I was actually on it yesterday and I was (sadly) shocked at how clean it was, and whats even crazier... it DID NOT SMELL!!!

  5. I’m sorry but this is so sad. LA was making such great strides in transit and then post pandemic everything went to shit. I don’t blame people for not wanting to put up with the crime and behavior problems or the reduced headways but fuck me a major subway line in a world class city when gas is $6/gallon and traffic is nightmarish shouldn’t be fucking empty. We have so much work to do

  6. I just don’t get it. Why does every other developed country (and some developing ones) make this work? But we can’t?! Only NYC and a couple other cities does it right. Just so shameful and embarrassing.

  7. We can but that doesn't mean we want to drive and downtown and deal with that parking. Or the gas, hell. I take the Red Line down there couple times a month for dinner or meetings sometimes.
