  1. In his defense, it was the drugs talking.

  2. lol, like he would admit to drug use.

  3. Aneutronic fusion is theoretically possible, say using boron-11 as fuel, that produces hot alphas that can be easily captured and directly converted to voltage. It required 3x the magnetic confinement, which is why d-t fuel is used for now.

  4. Surprised Mike doesn’t reference this role when he talks about inspiration for Shrek.

  5. Yeah both are based on his dad.

  6. Not good, they basically admit they gave into a pressure campaign. Stuff like this happens all the time across their infrastructure and it should be handled by the authorities if illegal, not them making a judgment call on their own. They say this shouldn't be taken as setting a new precedent, but we've seen this happening too much across the broader internet lately, often for opposing viewpoints and not even something illegal.

  7. I think part of the reason that it gets so much funding is that it is almost entirely a design-loaded challenge. Once you have the design for fusion reactor of reasonable size and output you can just stamp them out everywhere, and sell the spare parts. Someone is going to make a lot of money, like a dynasty-building amount of money, someday.

  8. I see it as an engineering-physics and material science problem. Simple IEC designs exist that can make plasma, but we are currently limited by magnetic confinement technology. Inertial confinement is another approach, but again limited by external technologies.

  9. Why are they charging their beta testers? Only reason that makes sense is to purposely limit their number for now.

  10. Because people have paid for beta in the past, and it’s a for profit business. To me the question is why would you believe anything Tesla tells you at this point?

  11. Umm, all the people who have already paid for this “feature”.

  12. Umm, is the Cuban thing behind the totem pole?

  13. This might be the least important thing I’ve ever read. And I’m on reddit.

  14. It’s a good covers album but still a covers album.

  15. I found it to be one hit and a bunch of misses. I think they picked them based on lyrics and then gave them the GATM sound and it didn’t fit, melody wise.

  16. Because Allen Weisselberg is simply a domino.

  17. A domino with only one layer above him. So it’s a short path to the top.

  18. Trump.org is a private company owned and run by the family, so very much including them.

  19. It occurred to me last night that a secondary reason Trump would publicize the search at Mar-a-Lago is to inform his accomplices that danger is afoot.

  20. I disagree with you that their actions were inconsistent, but I can appreciate how that's a difference of opinion and you just saw the character development and choices in a different light than me.

  21. “One of these things is not like the other... one of these things just doesn’t belong”.

  22. You can't be serious, right? Those segments were to help kids with things like

  23. I can explains it for you, but I can’t understand it for you.

  24. How would that work in this case? I just don’t see it.

  25. Would you bench Draymond because he isn’t an elite scorer? Not talking about this year. But for his entire career?

  26. Your comments don’t address the fact that Ben passes up scoring opportunities that Draymond and others take, to improve the teams chance of winning.

  27. For the same reason Alex Jones dragged his feet in the Sandy Hook hearings, eventually forcing the default judgement against him. The same reason Steve Bannon chose not to defend himself in court.

  28. Plausible (to some) deniability.

  29. I was the target audience for it came out and it’s a hot mess. So many great individual scenes with an incoherent narrative that some say was the point of what war is suppose to be like. Even the behind the scenes doc done by the directors wife only raises more questions then it answers.

  30. Look up the manufacturers specs for it. They will tell you the acceptable operating temperatures.

  31. So if I am to understand this correctly: we moved things faster than we thought we could?

  32. I read it as “the benefits from our continued hard work are now being seen in ‘ignition’ level fusion.” Which is exciting because of the are still learning how to improve it.

  33. It sounds like they’re still kinda unsure how it worked, so they’re trying to now replicate it.

  34. Unsure as in precisely how much of the individual changes made each contributed to the performance gains. So that they can focus on what to try next.

  35. Nolan is great at exploring nebulas concepts. Unfortunately for him, his statements don’t go beyond that.

  36. So much Romanticism around AI. Computers only do what you tell them and until WE understand intelligence how are we going to do that? None of these AI stories care to mention that. They explain it away by cherry picking brute force examples of success and selling hope.

  37. I don't. That attorney withheld evidence in the discovery phase. He will not be an attorney after this.

  38. They didn’t comply with the discovery phase. That is why there was a default judgment. Attorney is new since then anyways.

  39. It is cute that you think the school is still what drives the region's reputation.

  40. Or that candidates visit this reddit.
