  1. Look at a used Ibanez AG95. It’s a smaller hollowbody, (like the Gibson/Epiphone ES-339), so it’s more comfortable to hold, more portable, and I find the neck very suited for jazz. However it’s also more sensitive to climate and temperature. If you want something more bulletproof, grab a Classic Vibe Telecaster.

  2. I made a new custom action called “BetterStop” including the actions: Transport: Play/stop & Send all notes off to all MIDI outputs/plugins

  3. Could also get boost and a lot more flexibility with EQ pedals like the GE-7, or boost pedals with tone shaping like the MXR micro amp+ or Xotic RC.

  4. I like my AF55. When I pick it up it feels like home. Every one I’ve played (maybe 6) has been consistently good quality. I didn’t like the metal bridge, though, and changed it out for a wood bridge. I find my AF55 more fun to play, and sounds better than my AK95.

  5. It’s the same reason food cooked over a flame tastes better than food cooked in a microwave.

  6. Translation: Management needs everyone to do both their own job and everyone else's job, and also do any other job that management dreams up, because they are too cheap to hire more workers.

  7. Klon—you could stay with MXR with a Sugar Drive. Btw, about the Tumnus Deluxe, I think an EQ before a simple Klon is better than having onboard EQ.

  8. How do you use the EP Boost? Since it’s such a colorful boost, I don’t like using it to push overdrives, but instead to add character and volume to them. So, try the EP after dirt, like first spot in the loop.

  9. Boss CP-1X compressor, Way Huge Conspiracy Theory, MXR Phase 90, Oceans 11

  10. Boss CP-1X compressor Way Huge Conspiracy Theory MXR Phase 90 Oceans 11

  11. Digitech Hyperphase. Sold it, and then got really into phasers, and realized I hadn’t really explored the Hyperphase sufficiently. So I bought another.

  12. Way Huge Conspiracy Theory. I watched the Anderton’s Klon shootout, and despite their ranking, I preferred the sound of the Conspiracy Theory over the others. So I got one and I love it.

  13. OP: I found the supposedly “hidden” high pass filter on the DMB.

  14. OP. I opened it up and wiggled the IC’s and experimented with the trimmers (I took a picture first!) and got a little more definition on the delays. Sounds better now. It really was mushy before.

  15. How come the best Star Trek movie is “Galaxy Quest” and the best Star Trek show is “The Orville: New Horizons”?

  16. Lite Brite’s don’t work that way. The lights aren’t individual, there’s a single light and a piece of black paper, and you poke the little plastic bits through the paper. At best the single Lite Brite light would have glowed or flickered, causing all the plastic bits to glow and flicker together.

  17. Wear earplugs. And tell the piccolo players to wear earplugs. This is the voice of experience.

  18. I prefer the EP booster later in the chain, as it makes everything before it sound better, but what makes it special is lost if it’s used to early in the chain, or before dirt. I don’t have experience with the Super Clean. You might look at a Boss GE-7 for a buffer with boost and tone shaping.

  19. My Irish wolfhound huddles behind us on the couch during fireworks and thunderstorms.
