  1. A fantastic way for two people who deserve each other to meet.

  2. This is why I don't like ember and never take her along. The game wants so badly to convince you that she's super jesus who can even convert demons to good just by being so vewwy nice, but in practice she roasts anyone who looks at you funny without a second thought. It's not at all coherent and it makes her whole arc and shtick feel false

  3. I dissagree about Nenio. that game doesn't want you to see here as Albert Einstein. It wants you to see her as a Wikipedia warrior. She thinks being smart means you know a bunch of things hence she's trying to write an encyclopedia. She's the person who goes "technically" in an argument. She knows a bunch of stuff but only through experience. and treats each experience as the end all be all. I'd say that fits her character pretty well.

  4. It's an interesting take, but I have to say I can't agree.

  5. You keep saying that she has an intelligence of 26 but I don't see that as The game saying she's smart. She has a high intelligence so that you can put all those skill points into the knowledge/lore skills. I don't think owlcat wants us to see having a high intelligence score as equating to you being actually intelligent.

  6. I'll agree to disagree on that one, but fair enough! It's always tough to portray characters with high mental stats, (Int Wis Cha) just because they're so subjective.

  7. redditors hate it when people in 3rd world countries try to survive

  8. Lol this guy thinking he woke , referring to them as "3rd world countries" and then assuming that everything they do (even what is obviously a celebration/stunt) is some sort of desperate survival tactic. You played yourself bro. Sit down.

  9. Seeing these kind of bills as a European is terrifying and honestly a little sickening.

  10. Full Veteran's with no helm and Fingerprint Shield + Mohg Spear.

  11. Lol I sever out as soon as I see folks with a loadout like that.

  12. I live 2 mins from this tree, so sad! But it'll grow back.

  13. Joke characters. Sorry but I don’t play dnd to have you throw off my entire week of prepping because you want to start fights and steal and just cause trouble because you’re the clown of the group, it’s boring and annoying for me, the dm, to have to pander to your joke.

  14. This x100. Players should be able to read the tone of a group and campaign, and at least make an effort to align with it. If we're all going for a grimdark kind of low-key tone, it's not funny or "meta" for you to roll up with "Flobblesnob, also known as Mister Fantabulous the Whimsical Whizzard!".

  15. ye sadly that's how over half the duels are like rn. best thing to do is to block every duel gankers you ran into to avoid this. kinda worked for me but new assholes keep appearing. it's mostly those "there's no duel etiquette/honor" people who go for the community agreed dueling spot to do this shit. and it's bc they can never win a fight otherwise

  16. I duel a LOT at 120, and nowadays maybe 1 in a 100 duels I get a chugger, and shit like this has only happened to me a handful of times in maybe a few thousand duels. I know it's really unpleasant and it sticks in your mind, but it's a vanishingly rare problem.

  17. Weaker damage than hammers, much longer charge time for R2, fun ash of war that you can never replicate so you have to remove it for other scaling.

  18. Flails should have a passive property that lets them do damage past shields, like some of the sickle-style weapons do. I would also love it if they just really upped their poise damage, on par with a greatsword or something, so that at least if you hit with their slow and short-range attacks you know you're not just gonna get tanked by some scrub in Veteran's Armor.

  19. Yes it would be a fair point to raise for Obama. If your family died in a drone strike he authorized why wouldn’t you wish the same?

  20. May he or she who is without sin cast the first stone, bro. Human history is the history of rape and pillage. You think white people invented it? You got hate in your heart and just want to thrill in the viciousness of the sentiment. Smh.

  21. You've received good class advice already (paladin or Demonslayer ranger), but one thing you should be aware of: Core isn't 'normal' difficulty, it's the level the game was designed to be a challenge at. Whatever difficulty you start at, there's no shame in turning the difficulty down if the fights seem impossible.

  22. Don't start on Core. Consider "Core" the "Insanity" difficulty of most other games, with Hard and Unfair being ridiculous cheesefests where only exploit-driven builds have any hope of succeeding.

  23. Yeah, I'd have said that, but every time I do, I get downvoted into oblivion by the 'Core is the base game!' and 'Core is easy if you're not terrible' bros. Which I find ironic, since I usually play either Hard or Unfair, depending on whether or not I want a challenge.

  24. I don't get those people. Like, yes we play on Hard and Unfair at this point, and yes Core is fairly easy for us, but that's because we have hundreds of hours logged and we're really good at the game at this point. It's dumb to pretend a new player will have the same experience.

  25. Godrick honestly for me. He’s such a good intro boss for when you REALLY want to learn the game. Solid tells, reasonable tracking, and an easy to understand pattern tree.

  26. He also teaches you that jumping can avoid certain attacks more effectively than dodging... I wish they had used that more in the rest of the game

  27. Kids and adults use the same bathroom everywhere else... Why are we treating teachers as sex offenders just waiting to happen?

  28. At least I’ve got the good grace to post him on /weird and be like dang guys my cat’s fuckin weird

  29. Yeah you did the right thing lol. Your cat's fuckin weird, he's not aww. But I hope you give him a good life and he's good back to you. :)

  30. Azata sounds right for you, and in terms of class ranger works well but you might find your animal companion starts to overshadow you because they're extremely strong in this game. I think if you want a more interesting gameplay experience you need a class that gives you something else to do in combat besides attack.

  31. If their default sense of humour is kinda mean and prickly, and often puts down other people (and this is often subtle), that's a no go. It may be charming and quite funny at first but it's only going to get more and more pointed.

  32. I think the main problem is that the difficulty system is mis-labelled for anything but really, REALLY experienced CRPG players. "Core", which is what a lot of players will default to as the "true" experience, is actually about as hard as the game can be when played "normally" (e.g. RPing, including party members because you like them, using equipment because you think it looks cool, etc.). Hard requires specific and well-thought out builds, optimised story choices, and an awareness of the kinds of enemies and kinds of equipment you're going to find at various stages of the game. Basically, almost no one should be playing WotR on Hard for their first playthrough.

  33. We have a winner! Although maybe it should be styled "Dungledore" with the e at the end.

  34. Yeah he's a bit of a Mary Sue. The backer content in general seems to have been designed to make the NPC seem really kewl and awrsome, even if it's a bit cringe for both you and your main character. But I guess that's kinda the point?

  35. It's a really long game and the way unfair is set up means you need to use some sort of abusive system or pseudo-exploit. And even then it's still incredibly tedious until you get to the level where that exploit becomes possible. So not so much "bending the game over your knee" as ducking out the side door.

  36. WotR really did evil right. Both with your character and with the demons. Really shows all the shades of chaotic evil, not just bloodthirsty fuckthugs.

  37. I don't like Lann's default class of Zen Archer. It's really strong, but there's not much in the way of customisation beyond picking which type of bow you want to use and some mostly useless ki powers.

  38. Agreed, thankfully with Lann he's got the stats for you to start maining a few other classes after you get 3 levels of zen archer (which basically has the best stuff). Personally I make him a community domain cleric to give me that sweet guarded hearth bonus.
