  1. I’ve said “avocadog” out loud to myself Atleast five times and it makes my brain hurt lol thanks.

  2. Maybe it's because their 'o's are pronounced differently? 'Avocadoge' seems slightly better to me.

  3. Meanwhile, the population of Ohio has increased by 1.4 billion. It has begun.

  4. I just had a municipal parking authority, ticket me for parking with an expired license plate.

  5. If it says you need to pay or make a court appearance, I would probably try to resolve it. Several years ago, I had a coworker that told me a story about how he got a parking ticket right before he was about to move out of state and forgot about it. Some time later, a potential employer that had run a background check asked him about a warrant he had in his previous state. He had to hire a lawyer to get everything resolved. I'm not sure how embellished the story was though, and it probably also depends on where you get the ticket.

  6. There was a plan to cover the the polar ice caps with mirrors to reflect light back into space. Book 8 or 9, maybe. I think the machine they built to do it went crazy and started killing stuff - but it’s been nearly a decade since I read it.

  7. I think it was a space probe bound for Mars that got hacked and started attacking during a demonstration of the climate change device. I think the characters popped the device and hid under the mirror wafers to fool the probe into thinking they were dead/gone?

  8. How I Met Your Mother touched on it as well

  9. We've had one, yes. But what about second price drop?

  10. how that cpu doing, i bought it used with rampage mobo

  11. It's still holding its own! Doesn't feel as snappy as it used to, but I don't really notice it unless I'm coming directly off of using a system with a pretty new CPU. I'm using an MSI X99S SLI Krait, which.... is okay, but a bit tempermental. For a while, I had to reset CMOS every so often because my thoroughly stress-tested overclock would suddenly stop working. After resetting a couple times and reapplying my OC settings, it would magically be working again. I was able to get the RAM to run with XMP enabled after some fiddling with the VCCSA and VCCIO, but it stopped tolerating that eventually and I had to turn XMP back off.

  12. Did you try a different wall outlet? Check the breaker box to see if anything was tripped and hasn't been reset? Could your surge protector be turned off or fried? Since it works in a different location, my first instinct is that it's just not getting power.

  13. Did you just change the speed, or did you enable XMP? If you didn't use XMP, try doing that instead.

  14. it’s called DOCP for AMD and i tried it and it went black screen after reset again. thanks anyway!

  15. Ah, too bad. I'm not too familiar with AMD systems. Increasing a couple of the CPU component voltages (VCCSA & VCCIO) helped with memory OC stability on my old Intel build, but I'm not sure how similar AMD CPUs are in that regard.

  16. Check your GPU Hot Spot temperature. I'm assuming the 80-85C is your overall GPU temperature, which is a bit toasty and I think bumping up against throttle territory if it's getting to 85C. GPU Hot Spot will be even hotter, and may be causing throttling. I'd recommend HWINFO64 for monitoring temperatures, if you're not already using that. Don't know why this would just start being an issue now, especially since you mentioned having dusted already without an improvement, so I'm not actually sure if temperature is the issue. You could try undervolting the GPU, and that should give you some better temperatures without much decrease in performance (compared to when it's not acting up, that is). It wouldn't hurt to try, at least. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date.

  17. I know you said you have your power button connected to your motherboard, but I can see from your first pic that there's nothing connected to the PWR pin for the power button on the F_PANEL header (though my view of the corresponding GND pin is obscured by the cable plugged into the SPEAKER header). Could you have plugged the power button cable into the speaker header by mistake?

  18. I’m guessing just by having less heat the hardware is stressed less so slightly better performance at the correct temp then?

  19. Right. There are a few different performance limiters that cards have, like temperature as you said. The RTX 3000 series, if that's something you're considering, especially tends to power throttle (the card's power draw hits a certain limit, and the card throttles to keep the power draw in check), which is also solved by undervolting.

  20. That works when you cannot see the hand of god working. But a setting where magic and divine intervention are real? They have a bit more than just faith to go by.

  21. Yeah, when Jack first returned to the temple after his first full school day, he did offer a quick prayer to Astara to protect his friends, and not to worry about protecting him. And then they got a new companion who tried to join them early on in the trip, kept shaking off Chiyo's suggestions to stay away, and wound up saving the girls from a tough spot while Jack was off crashing through a building. Maybe Dante is Astara's answer to Jack's prayer?

  22. If you decide to go for the higher end, save some money by getting the non-Ti version. Unless the 3080 Ti gets significantly closer in price to the 3080, the 3080 is a much better value. The 3080 Ti is maybe 10% more performance for over 25% more money than the 3080 (I currently see them listed around $200-$250 higher). It's a similar story for the 3070 vs 3070 Ti. The Ti versions are good cards, just bad value when the non-Ti versions are available (and they should be in stock most places now).

  23. I would very much recommend you check out pcpartpicker.com. It's a good tool for putting together your parts list, and will point out/filter for incompatibilities and total up your max power draw to help you pick your power supply.

  24. Looks good to me. One note I have though, is the 3070 Ti probably isn't the best value now that there's actually some choice in the market. Iirc, the Ti versions didn't really have much performance uplift this generation; definitely not enough to justify the big price hike from their non-Ti counterparts. Unless you've found a really good deal, a 3070 would probably cost you almost $100 less for not much less performance. Going the other way, a 3080 these days should cost a little more than the 3070 Ti, but give a sizable jump in performance. Either of those would probably be a better bang for your buck, depending on availability.

  25. same!! Ive been trying to gleek for years and still can't

  26. I find the best time to do it is right after a yawn. After yawning, bend your tongue back and press the bottom of it against the roof of your mouth.

  27. I finally got the courage to use the squat rack for the first time after going to the gym for 7 months! I only did 2 sets of 3 with just the bar and I felt like I was doing it wrong but I’m still proud of myself

  28. Awesome! And I don't know if this is just me, but I found that squats felt more natural/balanced once I got a little weight on the bar. You'll get the hang of it!

  29. I don't think anyone is going to argue that rescuing people from the Arxur is bad, but they may question the truth of the matter or human motives for the act. If they are having trouble grasping the concept that predators can be people rather than monsters, contemplating the possibility that human selflessness and compassion exceeds their own is world-shattering. Any other explanation would seem more reasonable.

  30. I don't really see it as us necessarily having more selflessness and compassion, though. More just that we have different emotional responses under duress and are able to control them better, and that makes a boarding far more feasible for us. If any of the Federation species tried, they just wouldn't be able to keep their composure. They would break down and either get killed or wind up in cages themselves. We most likely wouldn't try either if there was no actual hope for success.

  31. reinstalling windows wont work anymore no matter how many times i reinstall windows still power throttling and current edp

  32. I meant, did you do a factory reset or did you install from a USB?

  33. i dont know why my laptop is constantly current limit and power limit throttling

  34. Did you reinstall drivers after reinstalling Windows? The original Windows installation that shipped with the laptop should have had all the correct drivers and settings. So try looking at HP's support site for driver downloads. You can also go to component manufacturers sites directly for possibly more up-to-date versions. Intel's chipset drivers could potentially help (they're actually more like configuration files than drivers, but that's beside the point. If you also have a discrete graphics card, definitely download and install the driver for that from the GPU manufacturer.

  35. The first PC I built was for my parents as a family PC in 2013. It had an AMD A8-5500 APU and no discreet graphics. It started out great and was able to pay Mass Effect 3 decently well at like medium settings on our 1366x768 monitor. I finally upgraded the CPU, motherboard, and RAM in 2019 as a Christmas present for my parents after a couple years of them complaining that it was getting progressively slower. So that's 6 years.

  36. Hi all. Does MSI Z690-A Pro Wifi come with wifi antenna? I just moved places and can no longer run a network cable. I cannot seem to find an antenna in my mobo box. I am now doubting whether i ever had one at all! Any help would be appreciated

  37. MSI website shows WiFi antenna as being part of the box contents.

  38. Looks like a solid build to me. If you're in the US, you might be able to save a bit on the GPU, though. In particular, the EVGA 3080 10GB models should be below $800 now on both Amazon and EVGA's own site, and I also see Zotac and MSI models for right around $800.

  39. Just because your PC has worked fine in the past, doesn't mean it can't possibly be a hardware issue. I helped my cousin with a similar issue on their PC. They had been gaming on it for a couple years with no issues, and then suddenly it started freezing/BSODing frequently. I (with some help from another kind redditor) narrowed it down to most likely being faulty/degraded VRMs on the motherboard. I fixed the issue by giving the CPU a little more voltage and improving the airflow across the VRMs to keep them cooler and hopefully prevent more degradation (they were toasty and getting almost zero airflow).

  40. To the right of the RAM slots, there should be a small LED panel with EZ Debug LED printed next to it. Does that show any codes when you try to start your PC?
