  1. So here’s a question, if you make a mistake on your taxes with no ill intent and they notify you years later that you owe them money, you have to pay 7% interest on that mistake? Is there any way to have the interest waived? Taxes are complicated (by design) and people make mistakes. Should they be penalized for that?

  2. “Your production is always the best production.” Stephen Sondheim said that but the first time you see a show becomes ‘yours.’

  3. This reminds me of Be More Chill -- a show that, from day one of previews, didn't sell well, wasn't clicking with Broadway audiences, didn't have good word of mouth... then the NYTimes review came out, it was (predictably) middling and some of the cast started throwing temper tantrums online.

  4. Had no idea about the BMC cast reactions, that's honestly fascinating, do you recall which actors spoke out?

  5. I asked the same question and have yet to get an answer. Sometimes people call things temper tantrums that are not.

  6. ITT: people saying the question should’ve been more clear

  7. We don't know if the kid did it for laughs or missed some lessons leading up to this test, or if the clock lessons were at the beginning of school year and this test was at the end.

  8. There's an analog clock that's been drawn and erased because they couldn't figure it out.

  9. Also much better from a tax perspective. You can usually avoid a ton of inheritance tax if you do it this way.

  10. I'm not familiar with how it is in the UK, but I know how it is in Germany:

  11. That does make sense. Thanks for explaining. I never would have thought of it that way, but I can see why the law would be set up that way.

  12. I've recently rewatched The Office and noticed that the scene where Nate appears in blackface was cut, even though it being inappropriate is the point of the scene. Now it makes sense.

  13. That's so fucking dumb. They removed 5 IASIP episodes because they're wearing black or brownface in the episodes, when the show is 100% making fun of them doing it and is in no way condoning that behavior.

  14. Money/ sense: I don't need this, I'll save my money by not buying it

  15. My first woodworking project was basically a big box like this and boy, they do NOT tell you how difficult it is to cut a perfectly square square.

  16. I was wondering how long it would take to learn how to do the soldering and wiring well, but the woodworking aspect probably would require the most practice and precision.

  17. I can't believe 7 days is considered progressive. 7 days sick leave could easily be wiped out in one fell swoop with a flu.

  18. Hope the programming gets better. Maybe more people would donate if NPR actually did the news and had varied programming. Instead it's always the exact same thing based on race, women's rights, gay rights, trans rights. Important topics hell yeah. The only important topics of course not

  19. Every few years?? I get stripped naked and checked all over my body once a year. How can people not find time for that in a year? For something that could save their life.

  20. gc1 says:

I mean, yeah, I agree, but that’s sort of like saying why bother improving gas mileage on ICE cars because they pollute anyway.

  21. I'm always in support of something that's less wasteful, I just think the impact of this particular thing is negligible compared to improving cars and reducing pollution.

  22. gc1 says:

This is actually quite environmentally friendly if it reduces waste!

  23. That’s a stretch. The lotion is still packaged in stiff plastic that will never break down completely.

  24. yep - you're right it is. Oh well, as you say - the other shows will be great I'm sure. Do you have any tips on how to get discounted tickets, or is it just a case of paying the full amount?

  25. There is a discount thread here, but a lot of the coupon codes might be outdated.

  26. i was tempted to go Sondheim. I saw they are doing 'merrily...' at the moment too!

  27. Yeah but you have to install and use some cancerous e-reader app, at that point I'd rather just buy the book and pirate a digital version of it.

  28. It's always worth canceling anything from old Jeffrey

  29. I've never hated someone so quick before. What a fucking chode. Cameron is a baller for not going off on that dumb prick

  30. He didn’t even have to open his mouth. His whole demeanor was enough to know he was the worst.

  31. I understand the freedom from having something put in your child that you may be against . Even if the source of that belief is religion, ignorance, or just none of my damn business. But the fact that it comes from a basic distrust of science, scares the shit out of me

  32. There’s a big difference between “I don’t want my child to eat dairy” or “we are vegetarians for religions reasons” and “we are denying our child life-saving treatment” (because someone with ill intent convinced is of something untrue).

  33. Wow. This episode is playing as I am reading this… Michael just said those lines. Is that considered deja vu?

  34. I was amazed by Jefferson Mays. You’d think seeing a one-man show would feel a certain way, but you forget it’s only one guy on stage. It’s so hard to describe if you haven’t seen it!

  35. You just look kind of zoned out. I don’t understand what this picture is supposed to convey. Which is the funny part?

  36. He’s looking at the grandmother, not his wife. He can’t see her cleavage over her shoulder.

  37. Happy for fans who now have more chances to see it… but on some level, this feels like fraud.

  38. I get that, but what’s the alternative? The demand is so high, they’d have to be crazy not to extend.
