  1. It’s real obvious Hans cheated. Kudos for Hikaru supporting Mag, even if just ‘I’m really sus’.

  2. Im a utility engineer as well in the mainland. Totally agree with you. The constant power outages in Puerto Rico are indicative of a lack of redundant feeds in the system. The use of old infrastructure standards is very common even in high profile cities in the US. But redundant fees are also very common so storms can take out one or two lines but you can still cut over with another. The business model of the utility is to spend capital dollars by building new infrastructure to receive a fix ROI through rates from customers which is pre-negotiated with the local public service commission. Utilities don’t like to spend money on maintaining the system and always try to minimize it because they are not allowed to charge an ROI on their maintenance costs. I don’t know how rate increases in PR get approved seeing that little to no capital work has been done to harden the system. This would have made the system more resilient even with the lack of maintenance.

  3. The most realistic approach is to require a massive battery and some solar to be added to each home built / sold in PR (homes over $100k at least). That would run about $5,000 to $15,000 per home.

  4. tldr; Ethereum’s move to proof-of-stake consensus, symbolized by The Merge event, significantly reduced ETH inflation. A week after The Merge, the supply of ETH has only gone up by 5,000. This is a 95% reduction in net ETH issuance (including the burn).

  5. The whacky thing is BTC issuance is like 1.7% - Mar 2024 that's 0.8%.

  6. The whacky thing is BTC issuance is like 1.7% - Mar 2024 that's 0.8%.

  7. That's basically what "dad bod" was when it first started out. Now, I'm sure that term has gotten fatter.

  8. I'd challenge anyone to gain weight eating only fruits, meat, and vegetables for a month (no milk). It's actually quite hard; without blending, gorging on potatoes, or eating only bacon.

  9. In your example, it's the fiber making the difference, as processed sweets of course don't have any.

  10. Also - does Joe Biden eat food, or crickets? World Health Org tells me real men only eat crickets, 'and you will be happy' haha :D

  11. Yes, the sad reality is that no one wants to acknowledge that they might be part of the uninformed faction.

  12. He's implication in the letter was the 'guilty' party was 'the government' (or Britain in context). Effectively he was asserting MSM (which they called National Gazettes) was deliberately spreading lies, and as such a few members of the National Gazettes and Government would be killed, and that's not his problem (Jefferson was 'pro peace' - if you'd let him - and violence as a necessity - because no gov actually tolerates change).

  13. His implied assertion is that the MSM lies were not random, but a secret plot by the Brit’s.

  14. Ya I think I will end up getting a Toyota Tacoma myself, for about $50k.

  15. I got my TRD-Pro in 2020 for 50 grand. Great looking truck, super reliable and trustworthy, and does a great job hauling my tools around locally for my dent repair business and it is also just handy to have a 4 door pickup for ski trips and taking the family mountain biking. But damn, it is the worst driving vehicle I have ever driven, and that includes cars from the 1970s like my dad's 1973 Chrysler station wagon of my 4 wheel drum 1970 Chevelle. It simply takes all the fun out of driving.

  16. Clint Eastwood also made light of the protest, equating it to something without equivalence.

  17. Clint is a no nonsense guy. Even though he is into politics some (a conservative), he just 'no nonsense'; and is famous for it.

  18. It's really not that much different, aside you need a PR bank.

  19. Totally possible. I think they actually HAVE to produce it next year at this point

  20. Elon said June 2023 recently on call, or something like that.

  21. I would just do bikes. You can do about 50 miles in 4 hours on a bike. San Juan to Rincon for example is 200 miles. Then I would camp. So you have bikes + camp gear. That's cheap, especially if you can rent it from the university or something (I dunno). Government camp sites in PR are $3 / day.

  22. Hello, i was wondering if you happened to have any recommendations of waterfalls to visit outside of the rain forest. I will be staying in luquillo. Thank you!

  23. Not really expert on this things but ill try my best to explain. The Romans used their flexible formations and terrain to their advantages. The Greek Phalanx, most notably the sarissa phalanx with extremely long spears, were almost impenetrable from the front, but were extremely vulnerable from the sides and the rear. The phalanx is also very clumsy and formations tend to break up and become disordered on rough terrain, so the Romans exploited these weaknesses. This is also the reason why the Roman military abandoned phalanx-style in favor of manipular formation.

  24. There’s also the ‘anti shield’ spear the Roman’s developed that hard countered phalanx. Phalanx was expensive. The roman counter was add a thin 2 foot metal head to the spear - cheap.

  25. I think the giant wiper is what has really throwns off the whole look for me vs. the original prototype.

  26. I think it's like 10 mins of DIY to remove the wiper. I have a feeling in everything but a total downpour you won't need it.

  27. Although it would be incredibly awesome to get to an off ramp this way, crossing all four lanes

  28. In boating applications, if you can point all tires toward the center, you should be able to steer and 'drive' the steel monster.

  29. Me too. Using it as an adventuring/road trip vehicle, so it will be good if I need to stealth camp somewhere I can't set up the tent (like a Walmart parking lot)

  30. I just got into Yurts and love them. They are more for group camping, but the setup is super fast and they are insane huge.

  31. I mean, if they're peeing, put them down or you also get wet.

  32. I work with stray dogs. EVERY stray dog pisses in my house exactly 1 time - every single one. From then on, the dogs piss and poo as far away as possible. This is very natural for dogs. This is also why dogs look at you while peeing / pooing. They are use to being in a pack that 'wonders off' or they simply walked about as far away as possible before peeing.

  33. Make sure your phone works in PR (Verizon doesn't, T Mobile does).

  34. When Cyber was first announced, it was to be in prod Dec 2021.

  35. I'm sure he realizes that. He was responding to Pozniaky86's "character."

  36. Man I got into a very similar style wreck. Car pulled out right in front of me.. and then drove off (like a mile) missing a wheel.

  37. Damn, that's horrible. I had a similar incident in the sense of getting into an accident that clearly wasn't at fault but insurance finalized it at 50/50. Makes you realize how valuable dashcams are cuz insurance companies don't work too hard to have your back when you need it.

  38. Thank you! Would you say it’s easy to find with gps? I’ll look into visiting the lighthouse! We plan on making a trip to Playa Buye also.

  39. Yes, I liked the visit, but the 'pink shrimp' is completely lame. Looks like a pond with a bad dye.

  40. It's because of whom'st've is receiving the money.

  41. They should cancel the whole student loan program to begin with. College tuition will drop 90%.
