When you come across a feel-good thing.

Thank you stranger. Shows the award.

Shows the Silver Award... and that's it.

  1. Masters of History here. There is a strong chance I do not know a particular piece of History. I can look it up and put it in context faster than you can, though.

  2. I don't know that I've ever sharpened mine! Honing rod and leather strop.

  3. Yes, you’ve mastered the concept. No further nuance is needed. Shut it down, move on with your life.

  4. Shoes, and I would not fault you if you wore a back brace, even if you’re currently 100%.

  5. monsters don't, but smart creatures realize he's not a threat.

  6. I don’t get it. If Hulk Hogan is double clotheslining me and my buddies so that little bo peep can smother me with a pillow, I consider Hulk Hogan to be the threat.

  7. Turns out I have low key gout. Hydrate like crazy. And yes, shoes.

  8. The National Association of Realtors chart tells me that the median cost of a home in 1983, in Boston, was $ 82,600. So I don't know what modest home you bought for 750k and held onto for forty years.

  9. I’m saying you buy now and sell in 40 years. The repercussions of this will be felt decades from now when $1m isn’t nearly as much $.

  10. The one million threshold adjusts annually.

  11. Thank you for the suggestion. Having a lower number of higher quality minions is what I am hoping to do. I will talk to my DM regarding your suggestion.

  12. There’s magic, and there’s alchemy. Alchemists can make healing potions, maybe a haste potion. There’s one in every village. Magic users? Very rare.

  13. A few months ago, someone posted a similar question and a comment said ‘My family call Morrisons Morribobs’.

  14. Compensation, but not of your choosing. We can’t let brats do the choosing. This whole sub is practically dedicated to finding loopholes.

  15. She (native German-speaker) is now informing me (native English-speaker), that I should have said 'meeting'.

  16. Ha! Mine just 90% stopped this week. She’s…. Fourteen weeks old. There is hope!

  17. The siket disc is a tough listen if you’re looking for fluffheads and divided skies.

  18. My mom: “I think you’d like Phish! They have vacuum cleaner solos! Eric wears their shirts!” Me: “Eric wears Green Day shirts. Fine, I’ll listen to this…. Siket Disc.” Ten years later I realized how much I’d missed.

  19. That is something I hadn't considered. Thank you!

  20. I’m just going to police myself just a hair! While I’m as blandly European descended as can be, and associate with the settlers in this scenario (e.g. “our hogs”), I want to make it clear that at no point was Massachusetts 100% a white settlement. It was never empty land, the native people never left, they are still here.

  21. I should mention, I discovered my dad's family actually lived down the road from here after they emigrated. Not on the Mayflower but pretty shortly thereafter. Judging from the court records, they were definitely people of their times (Quakers do NOT cause deformed goats, GGGG grand mother).

  22. There’s plenty to critique about the western world, but “Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.” Is a pretty good policy. I don’t sweat ancestral guilt.
