The first deputy chairman of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, hinted at the involvement of the US authorities in the murder of Haitian President Jovenel Moiz. His words are transmitted by the publication Version Final.
The politician noted that it is not necessary to be a fortune teller to identify the organizers of the attack on the state leader. He blamed the incident on the “North American Empire”. “The elementary logic of the events that took place on this continent and in this world was that one country stands behind the scenes as the main character, everything else is an attempt to confuse,” he stressed.
Cabello expressed solidarity and respect for the people of Haiti. He added that Venezuela is ready to “lend a helping hand” to the country.
On the night of July 7, a group of unidentified persons attacked the residence of the President of Haiti. The attackers fatally wounded the head of state with a firearm. Subsequently, the four mercenaries involved in the murder of Moiz were liquidated. Law enforcement officers also detained two suspects.
In the United States, they called the incident a tragedy. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki expressed solidarity with the people of Haiti and noted that the American side is ready to provide any necessary assistance to the country.
